Oh Fall... how I miss you!

Jake and I have lived out in AZ for nine years now. You would think that by this time I would be used to the fact that we don't have the change of seasons here like we do back in IL. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year! Back home, the leaves were changing beautiful orange, red and yellow colors that could take your breath away. Pine cones and acorns were everywhere. About now, we would be able to start getting into the jeans and sweaters in the evening because of the brisk temperature in the morning and evening. At Halloween time kids could actually wear those big furry costumes because it was actually chilly during trick or treat time! My Mom and Dad would rake the leaves into large piles and we could jump in them! What kid doesn't love that?! We also lived right behind the High School so on Friday nights the football games could be heard from our backyard! Football = Fall! It also meant Hot Chocolate and homemade soups! The smell of smoke and firewood burning meant people were starting to use their fireplaces. *Sigh* I really miss it.... I'm beyond ready for this 90 degree weather to go away!
